Not updating iTunes properly

Everything seems to work fine, correcting file names and tracks. But when I save, the songs that have been corrected, iTunes can’t find. Its as though the itunes library isn’t updating properly. I found the xml file and it appears to update (date and time) when I make a change in itunes.
Help, I’ve had to go back many times to fix or delete unfound tracks. Do I need to update or refresh iTunes after a save?

Thanks :!: :!:

Hi, I assume you are using 2.8.1 because this has a number of fixes for iTunes integration. Are you using Windows or OSX because by default Windows isn’t configured to update iTunes automatically (because many different media players are used on Windows) , you need to enable in Preferences/Save/iTunes AutoUpdate/Automtically Update iTunes library and ensure you have the iTunes library file set correctly.

If you are using OSX make sure you have the iTunes library Xml file set okay.

Is it only failing for songs that have been renamed, or all songs. If you are still having problems can you send me the following:

Support Files (use Action/Create Support FIles)
iTunes Library Xml File
If on OSX the contents of Home:Library:Preferences:Jaikoz:Applescript

When I want to save I get a “Unable to update iTunes:Input length = 1”
Using OSX 10.5.6
Jaikoz 2.8.3

Fixed in Jaikoz 2.8.4

Hi,
My library is not updating correctly - you mentioned "

How do I do this? (I’m a luddite!)
I’ve copied itunes music folder to the public folder and set the path in the advanced tab of the preferences to the public folder but the albums have not copied over…

Hi, have you upgraded to the latest version of Jaikoz because there is no Advanced tab, and the iTunes Library Xml File option has been removed because it is no longer necessary

I just got Jaikoz and ran autocorrect on my entire library (17K songs). I have the Preferences set to autoupdate my iTunes library.

When I open iTunes, none of the new information is displayed. But when I double click to play a song, or choose “Get Info” about a song, then the new information is populated in the iTunes columns.

I obviously don’t want to have to play all 17K songs or “Get Info” on all of them in order to see the new information displayed in iTunes. Is there a quick way to make iTunes display all the new information I know it knows but isn’t showing?

Yes, just do ‘Select all’ and then ‘Get Info’

Thank you, Paul. That did it.
