Not copy files to Various Artists

Maybe i should research more to make sure there isn’t already a feature for this, but i would love it if it didn’t create the Various Artist Compilations. I know its just picking what it thinks is the most viable location from the musicbrainz info but i would rather have the standard folder of artist\album\songs and just have 1 song in there. Plus it promotes the use of the missing songs feature so i could see what other ones i should buy.

So at the moment i manually change the musicbrainz info to select one that comes of an album or update the metadata myself and submit it.

I think its just one of those pet hate things where i would rather see it organised my way. Maybe i should get checked for OCD haha

It is using artist\album\songs but is finding that the best match apears to a Various Artist Compilation (possibly because that is where the song originally came from and is marked as such in the album field).

Ensure you don’t have a various album name in the album field before doing matches to increase the chance of getting an original album. In a later version Jaikoz I will allow users to choose between
‘Always try and find first original album that this song apeared on’
‘Find match that best matches exiosting metadata’

with some chnages behind the scenes to give better results.

Nice that sounds like a great idea. I have found a few songs that do belong to a compilation but i prefer to force them to an original release so that when i search in my music player by year, the song will be where it should be. So this feature would be sweet

I second the idea to have a ‘Always try and find first original album that this song appeared on’ option. It would be great! This is the main feature that I miss from this program or any other.

What I thought I would like that would serve a similar purpose is to be able to assign score to Album Artist matching Artist.

I’m really sick of getting “Now that’s what i call music” compilations info, since it is obvious it’s not the original release. :evil:
