New Artwork

The system of replacing artwork with the SongKong software is pretty clear and works flawlessly in most cases. Lately the following problem occurred on my system: after ripping 6 cds and storing the files on my Melco server I had to renew the artwork. After downloading jpg-images from the internet (each size between 12 KB and 47 KB) I changed the name of the documents to „folder.jpg“ and stored them in the relevant files. From there I put them in SongKong’s „Artwork“ page in the „New Artwork Displayed Here“ space and engaged „Select All“ and „Replace Artwork“. Unfortunately no artwork-miniature appeared at each song and the „Save“ button didn’t get to the desired results.

The jpg-files could be easily opened with the IOS-Finder and I’m using the latest SongKong version. Any suggestions on what went wrong and what to do?

Many thanks!

Hi, could you do the following:

Hi, thanks for jpeg i tried it locally using the Web User Interface and it worked fine for me.

Thanks for support files, unfortuately the support files only show uploads the last five reports of each task type, and none of the ones loaded were for the jpeg you sent me so I couldnt look at this specific case. But I notice from the ones you sent me artwork was added for

/mnt/disk1/share/import_CD/Jack Teagarden/Jack Teagarden Planet Jazz
/mnt/disk1/share/import_CD/Lee Morgan/Lee Morgan Planet Jazz

So were these okay for you or do you think there is a problem with these?

Regarding support files upload it only recieved it once, but it not clear which attempt failed the first one or the second one. Although you got an error for the second one I think that is the one that actually worked since the error did not occur until 100% of files were uploaded.

This issue has been reported once before and that was also on a Melco, so thinking may be a Melco specific error, further investigation indicates Melcos proxy is probably at fault and there are some allowances I can make to minimize the proxy error ocurring.

Hello Paul.

Thank you for your reply. The last three CD covers (Jack Teagarden, Lee Morgan and Clifford Brown) were added after the problem with the Dean Martin CD occurred. In these three cases, the covers could be added without any problems.

In the meantime, I downloaded another cover from a different Dean Martin album and tried to apply it to my file. This was also unsuccessful. I conclude from this that the problem is not with the JPG file, but with the album itself.

Do you need any further uploads?

Kind regards,

Winfried

Yes, please run Create Support Files again.

I found an error

19/12/2025 11.19.11:CET:SaveSongEditsHelper:updateArtwork:SEVERE: Unable To Decode Base 64 Image:data:image/jpeg;base64,UklGRki3AABXRUJQVlA4IDy3AAAwLQOdASoAAwADPlEmkEWjoiOnI7Ha+OAKCWVs7i08FaLf8fU51VCgmz+TYm9O/5Tz0vInnBlM2TeavU3+e/U2BxfEvlqbLW4z/czaFCt6p9XX5AeK/O/OZ+S/kJccvUfiH02fL+Mf7Q/Lf7n/I/4v9nvoJ/4P+v7pv8d+4fuS/1T/Jf7r24epj/…

So it seems it is trying to decode a byte stream rather than a file, try adding by using the Browse button instead.

Hello Paul, thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, the result was the same. Would it be helpful to delete the album and rip it again?

No, but please rerun Create Suport Files so I can examine logs.
