just a “switch” that would force the musicbrainz matching to ignore compilations.
musicbrainz - No Compilations option
Option Preferences:Musicbrainz:Match:Prefer Original Releases even if better match to Compilation doesnt completely ignores compilations but prefers original releases.
The trouble with completely ignoring compilations is that although you might generally prefer not to match to compilations almost everyone has songs thats did come from a compilation, and probably some songs that are ONLY available on a compilation.
I’m a coder. I’m pretty sure it would be very quick and easy to add this as an additional option and let people use it at their own risk. As long as Jaikoz doesn’t overwrite the track length, even if the compilation version is different, some of us would prefer our music library to reflect the original album and release date for our tracks. Currently the only way to do this is with a manual match.
By the way, if you aren’t going to add the option, could you at least explain the logic/rules behind how the original release preference options works now?
