Hi Anders, I don’t fully understand your question so feel free to follow this up.
Ok, if you manually edit the field and save the file it will be ‘permanent’ . I assume you mean how do you stop Musicbrainz overwriting the value incorrectly again if you run ‘correct-tags-from-musicbrainz’ another time. Under Action Settings/MusicBrainz Settings the autoformat tab has a number of checkboxes of the form 'Overwrite field even if it already has a value and the fields will not be overwritten Of course this would apply to all records you tag with MusicBrainz, but why would you retag a file that has already been tagged.
When it decides on a match as well as updating the artist name, album name Jaikoz also creates the Unique MusicBrainzId in the ‘UniqueId’ field, and the MusicBrainz Ids for the Artist,Album and Title in the ‘User Defined text Info’ column. You could modify these to the correct Musicbrainz AlbumId for example, this might be useful for other programs but wouldnt help Jaikoz.
The theory is that the ‘Correct tags from Musicbrainz’ action helps you identify information for stuff you dont know, as well as automatically correcting stuff you do know but saving you the effort. If the identification is incorrect and you know the correct information it is quicker to manually add in the correct information rather than try and help Jaikoz retrieve the correct information from MusicBrain. I may add a semi-automated MusicBrainz lookup in the future as I see it could be useful sometimes.
