Hi, as I said in the subject I have a bunch of MP4 files in a NAS. Jaikoz can open it, modify the metadata, save, save and copy etc.
The weird think is that this files are not visible in file system with the MacOS Finder.
Jaikoz 12.4 runs under macOS Monterey.
I’m getting crazy, I never seen this. Do you have any clue?
Mp4 files accessible from jaikoz but not from MacOS Finder
No, sorry that doesnt make much sense to me, have they got wierd file names?
No, nothing is wrong in the file names. They are stored in a set of directories, containing the files of 6 albums.
I opened it to add the cover jpeg, then I simply saved it. Suddenly the album disappeared from the streamer. If I open the directories with the macOS Finder there are no files. But if I open the same directory with Jaikoz the mp4 files are loaded and I can edit it normally.
Okay so it was visible from MacOS but is not anymore after modifying with Jaikoz?
There was a similar issue to this on Windows if you were just uisng a filepath and not mounting the drive to a letter they could get saved to the root folder of the path rather than the subdirectory of the path they were in.
Please check this, and how are nas files accessed from your Mac?
Also please run Advanced:Create Support Files.
You’re right. Under macOS you don’t have the letters to identify the drivers, but I found the files under the default Music folder. For some reason Jaikoz saved the files elsewhere but kept some kind of link or proxy to the actual position. The NAS is ok, lot of available space.
I tried again (open folder, load the music files, modify the metadata and save) but now the files are where they are supposed to be.
Tthank you for your help
