SongKong and Jaikoz Music Tagger Community Forum

media monkey

hi, new user here. i recently started using mediamonkey as my music player. somehow it changed the tags on my songs (5000+) to reflect that all songs were by the same artist and on the same album. their forums offered no solution, so further research led me to Jaikoz.

i have run autocorrect on the full library and it did a good job of correcting about 3000 songs. however for the other 2000, I’ve discovered that i need to manually remove the incorrect artist and album information for each file individually or the song file will not be recognized for remote correct. as this is VERY time consuming, i was wondering if anyone had found a better way to handle such an issue. many thanks in advance!

Hi Walter

Within Jaikoz you could filter the songs to show that have not been matched to Musicbrainz (Filters/Filter Musicbrainz Recording Id/Musicbrainz Recording Id Does not Exist), then just right click on the column header (e/g artist header) and select Empty Values to remove all artist values ectera. Or if you really wanted to go for it you could do Edit/Delete all Metadata. You might be losing valuable information here, but nothing is really lost until you actually save changes.

Paul

thanks paul, trying that now, will be a few hours before i know if it worked, but so far so good. since i’m assuming this will not match every single song, is there a way to match from my file names; most have artist and song information?

Yes, you can use Action:File and Folder Correct:Correct Metadata from Filename but you need to tell Jaikoz how the filename should be mapped to metadata in Preferences:File and Folder Correct:Correct Metadata from Filename:Rename Mask

By default it is set to

you need to take a look at your filenames and see if that matches.
