MB Disc Id question

When Jaikoz retrieves an MB Disc ID, is it actually retrieving the precise disc ID for the particular disc I ripped the tracks from, or is it just selecting the first Disc ID on the list of all TOCs associated with that MB release?

I ask because for every single album I’ve looked at so far that has more than one possible Disc ID, Jaikoz always seems to retrieve the first one.

No you’re correct , it cant work out the DiscId from the mp3 file its just a guestimate. If you don’t want it to do this you can change the value of Preferences/Musicbrainz/Format/MB Disc Id to ‘Never Populate’

That’s OK, I will still call for it to populate unless the field is already full. For the great majority of my classical music there is only one DiscId in MusicBrainz anyway.

For the few discs I have where there is more than one discID I see I can use Picard to look up the TOC, and then cut and paste the discID into the field in Jaikoz.
