there used to be the possibility to match to one release only selected files, from some time it’s gone, am I doing something wrong or it’s just really gone ? And if it’s gone, is it possible to be put back ?

Its not gone, its just moved.
Instead of selecting fields in the main table, select the rownos. The logic being this is a task applys to the song as a whole rather than just a field. The good thing is having selected the rownos you can either:
because the main menu and toolbar action now works on selected rows if rows selected, or all rows if none selected. This means we no longer need variations of the same shortcuts for do the same task but for selected/all rows.
