Hi!
When i select the action “manual correct tags from musicbrainz” jaikoz puts together a list of possible matches.
Sometimes it happens no matches are found. Even tough there are metadata available and the song exists on musicbrainz (e.g. no user for a name - biggest lie).
I was wondering if there was a way to directly look up those songs from within jaikoz, instead of having to switch to firefox and use the musicbrainz website search function and then manually insert the musicbrainz id to jaikoz?
manual MusicBrainz matching
The question is why does Jaikoz not find any manual matches, if it doesnt is it going to find any matches on Musicbrainz website. I know you found some matches but is there a difference in the spelling in what you submitted. I need more details to see if there is a problem.
i think it doesnt find anything because the song is a sample, probably just half the lenght of the original.
that was to answer your question… (at least i hope)
so is there a way to manually search and tag with musicbrainz from within jaikoz?
No there isnt, how would you like it to work
i think it would be nice if there was a “search manually” button next to each song in the “manual correct songs from musicbrainz” window. clicking the button would open a new browser window (loading directly musicbrainz.org/search.html) inside jaikoz. the browser window should have an ok/tag button somewhere. so once one finds the desired song on musicbrainz one simply hits “ok/tag” and jaikoz uses the MB id it gets from the sites url to correctly identify the song…
i uploaded a scetch.

sorry the style, but i think it gives the idea.
what do you think?
Hi, I can’t access your picture
It seems a resonable idea, (although Im not sure about the technical issues of how I add a button to another sites webpage and identify when it has been selected)
What I would think would also be useful would be to have a button next to each of the possible matches provided by ‘Manual Tags from Musicbrainz’ which would just open the Musicbrainz page for that track so you can look at any other details that might be relevent (but aren’t shown by the Jaikoz window) in deciding whther to select the match
sounds interesting, but the problem remains in those cases where jaikoz cant find matches and one has to manually search for them.
for the technical aspect, i think musicbrainz own picard tagger has some sort of functionallity to open a browser window and manually tag songs…

yes I agree
yes, youre right.
Hi!
Just for info, if you didn’t already notice  , here is a copy paste of the “tagger” link from musicbrainz…
http://127.0.0.1:8000/openalbum?id=af48d222-7e25-44d7-9f37-e54fab60ef78&t=1235058919
Indeed, when you start Picard Tagger, the port 8000 is opened.
Maybe, it can help…
Yes, this was added to Jaikoz a while ago, run Manual Tag from Musicbrainz and use the buttons at the far rhs of listed Songs to open a search in Muiscbrainz, if you then select one of the matches in Musicbrainz it should update the selection in the Manual Tag from Musicbrainz window.
Outch!
I try it with 2.8.2 on Linux and Macos, but does’nt seems to work…
On linux (openSUSE 11.1), I have configured the Browser Path, but once I click on the “tagger” link, nothing happens in Jaikoz
On Mac os with hte last version, doesn’t seems to work either…
Thanks!
[EDIT]
I just try out the last version on Linux and seems to work perfectly!!
Thanks for this soft!!
