Manual edit

Hi,

I find it very difficult to manually edit a bunch of tracks at once. Today I wanted to change the genre of around 40 files from “Alternative” to “Latin”. The only way I found was to change a single track, then copy the genre’s contents and paste it into the others. I find this rather unpleasant. With other programs it is possible to have a multi-selection, then open the info dialog for those files and now all I need to do is to change some field and it gets applied to all the tracks. I find it hard to believe, that Jaikoz does not allow to do that. If I remember correctly, it was possible a few years back, but I do not remember how.

Could it be, that, with all the automatic tagging, manual tagging has become unimportant? I do not think, that would be a good development. Both should be comfortable.

If you click anywhere on Jaikoz and then Shift-Click down its column it will select everything in-between. You can then right click and select “Set Value”. Then ctrl-v (command-v on Mac) to paste your genre, click ok. Now all fields changed to what you want it to be.

Thanks DJitalSneaky that is correct. I think this method is better than the way iTunes does it because you can see the current value of all the songs right up until you make the change.
