Manual Correct Tags: Enhancing 'same album' feature

Hello,

As i said in my previous post, lots of my tags are bad/empty, so i use the manual correct tags.

Actually, the ‘Release has been used by other tracks’ is checked in the preferences and i set a score of 10 to it.

My problem arises when several ‘release events’ exist for one ‘MB Release ID’:
[See picture below]

You can see that the score (76) is the same for the 4 release events. Even if i’ve already selected the ‘france’ release event for the 7 previous tracks, they still have the same score.

I think the ‘Release has been used by other tracks’ feature should include some information from the ‘release events’ of MB:

2000-02-28 France Source Records France 8488482 724384884826 CD
2000-02-28 United Kingdom Record Makers REC-01 724384884826 CD
2000-02-28 United Kingdom Virgin CDV 2910 724384884826 CD
2000-02-29 United States Astralwerks ASW 48848-2 - CD

Using for example the Country, ‘Release has been used by other tracks’ could increase the score only for the france release event. Other examples give the date (first column) as a good discriminant.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Pascal

Edit: spelling

You are correct. the release event is used for calculating the score of the release in both Manual AutoCorrect , but previously the ‘best’ release event was picked for you automtically you didnt have the option to explicity add it.

Now that you can pick the Release Event in Manual Correct I should adjust the score based on the values in each release event. i.e if your preferred country is France and only one release event relates to France only that row should get the ‘Release released in Preferred Country’ score.

Than you for your answer.

In fact, i don’t use the “Preferred country of release” because i have a lot of import CD. So i have no preferred country but the one from the CD.

That’s why i talk about the idea “country has been used for other tracks of the same album” as it is already the case for the “release has been used for other tracks”.

One solution will be to enhance the meaning of the word release in “Release has been used for other tracks” by adding some columns (like the country, the date…) to the calculation of this score (same slide bar).
