Lots of: Problem submitting a query to Discogs...

Paul,

With 2.8.3, I am seeing a large number of problems with submissions to Discogs. The exact error is of the form:

Feb 12, 2009 10:20:14 AM: SEVERE: There was a problem submitting a query to Discogs for Record Number 5,584 with filename 03 We Would Die For Hardcore.mp3: Error:400

If that is http result 400, then a bad query string is being submitted?

At the end of the console update:

Feb 12, 2009 10:20:18 AM: INFO: Updated 0 tags from existing Discogs Id successfully
Feb 12, 2009 10:20:18 AM: INFO: Unable to find a match for 5,646 tags
Feb 12, 2009 10:20:18 AM: INFO: Completed Updating Tags from Discogs for 5,646 files

Thoughts?

Im not sure about the 400 error (could you send your logs) but from the console it just looks like none of your Songs have a Discogs Release Id Url to lookup info from Discogs in the first place. Try manually adding a value into the column and see if it updates from Disocgs then.

As for manually adding something to a column, which column and add what? There is obviously part of Jaikoz I haven’t looked into yet.

Sorry Jim inadvertenly edited your own post

Click on the buton in the rhs corner of the table, should bring up a list of columns.
Scroll down until you find Release Discogs Url column and select it
This will then appear as an extra column on the rhs of the main view
Click on the fieldf to edit it and enter a Discogs release url such as http://www.discogs.com/release/627143.
Then run Update Tags from Discogs on this file it should update the cover art.

Having said that Ive just found small issue with cover art on Discogs, which may be your problem.

Paul -

Sorry I didn’t get you the logs. The latest update 2.8.4 appears to get rid of the issue though.

Let me know if you still want the logs.

Please send the logs, because Ive never seen a 400 error myself.
