I have 57 albums in my library without an album artist. What is the smartest way to edit these albums?
Large amount of albums without album artist
Are they just missing album artist or other things as well, are they matched to MusicBrainz ?
Assuming they are not matched to MusicBrainz or Discogs there is no simple way to simply manually edit these all in one go with SongKong because all tasks are folder based. If it was me I would probably run Match To One Album on each folder in turn to see if there are some matches that SongKong could not be certain enough about to apply automatically as part of Fix Songs.
Then for the remaining folders I would load my library into Jaikoz, where it would then be easy to manually add album artist to multiple files.
Thanks for the confirmation Paul. I thought about Jaikoz as well and will manually copy & past the required meta data.
The Melco drive is logged in on the Mac via SMB and the user is nobody/nobody. Jaikoz 12.4
I am receiving these error messages—this is new.
I think this is an SMB error but may indicate damage to the Melco Hard Drive
Have you updated Mac, Melco or Jaikoz ?
I don’t think it’s a hard drive issue. The Melco is running well, SongKong is making a lot of adjustments on the meta data without any issues.
I have updated Jaikoz to the latest version - haven’t used it for a while.
Okay its worth noting it seems to be the last files that have the issues (i,e starting with Z) so maybe it has run out of file descriptors, evey open file requires a file descriptor, but once Jaikoz has loaded a file it should release the file descriptor.
So it could be there is an issue with Jaikoz but none else has reported an issue and the current version has been out since March, or it could be that some other tool on the Melco is hanging onto file descriptors.
Is this problem reproducible?
