Keeps freezing my machine

Hi guys

Hope you can help

I installed the Jaikoz on my MacBook and tested it with a couple of folders on my NAS (Netgear Readynas+) and it seemed to work so I purhcased the license as I have quite a few albums to convert and add tagging to. Once purchased and licensed I tried to convert a few albums and it just seems to keep freezing my machine to the point where i have to keep rebooting it to get out the application ?

I’ve tried it with no other programs running and on single albums and it never seems to be able to complete I have tried leaving it for a few hours with no success. Permissions etc on the nas are ok

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Does it only fail when chnaging your files on the NAS rather than local files ?

Hi Paul,

Tried copying a couple to my local disc and yeah it works ok ? any idea why I can’t change them on the nas ?

PS Thanks for the suggestion.

No, there is nothing in the logs to indicate any problem at all.
Could you turn on full logging and try it again to see if we can get any more clues.

Enable full logging on OSX as follows:
If you are running Jaikoz you need to modify the value of -l and -m within the Info.plist

Go to where you installed Jaikoz
Show popup, and select 'Show Package Contents'
 Go into Contents/
Select popup on Info.plist and choose Open With Other...
 Select Application/TextEdit
Find the line that says <string>-l2 -m2 -f</string>
Modify the -l and -m values you require

Sorry for sounding a bit dense but modify the values to what number ?

Cheers

Pete

Sorry. modify to -l7 -m7 -f

BTW, this will slow Jaikoz down a bit so you’ll want to set back after getting the problem to occur.

Paul

Its not a major problem to copy the tunes to the macbook then up to the NAS when complete. I’ll do it that way

Thanks for your assistance
