Jaikoz Sometimes does not Recognise tags shown by Windows Explorer

Whenever I rip a cd using Windows Media Player, Windows explorer shows the Artist Album and Title for each song. Sometimes a song may have a missing tag. However importing the folder into Jaikoz, The tags for Album Artist and Title are blank.
I review the files in a folder in windows in windows 10 and see the following:

In This Case info for 1 file needed. So I jump to Jaikoz but I get the following:

Artist, Album, and Title fields are empty. How should this be corrected this.

Okay the original Wav tag is the INFO tag, but this only supports a very limited set of fields, this is what Windows Media Player uses. Jaikoz also supports the ID3 tag, this is now the defacto standard and supports all the fields we want to tag.

The problem is that when Jaikoz reads the file it only reads the ID3 tag and ignores existing INFO tag, when it writes to the file it actually writes to both the ID3 tag and also the basic metadata to the INFO tag.

I need to investigate if there is a good reason why I am only reading the ID3 tag, it would seem more sensible to read the INFO tag if no ID3 tag exists.

Thanks, I will just wait and see.

In the meantime if you run Autocorrect on the album in Jaikoz it should hopefully match and add the same data as Windows Media Player (as well as much more data), and because on save it will be saved to INFO tag as well as ID3 tag you should find that

  • The correct information shows up in Windows Explorer
  • If you reload the files in Jaikoz ( run Advanced:Empty Cache to empty database first), from now on the basic data should match what you see in Windows Explorer
