iTunes library on external drive

Hello,
I have apprx. 100 GB of songs on an external hard drive and want to run jaikoz on it. However, I can’t seem to find a way to access these files with jaikoz.

How do I upload the files from the eternal hard drive into jaikoz?
How many GB can jaikoz process at a time?

I’m sorry, but the jaikoz manual isn’t very user-friendly. It’s way too detailed and “nerdy” for a normal user with humble computer skills like me…

Cheers for helping me

What operating system are you using? If it is windows, then the external drive should show up as a drive letter. Something like Removal Disk (E:). You would just point it to that drive, or the folder you want it to load from on that drive.

How much memory does your system have? With the default settings, I find it works best with under 10,000 songs. You can always bump up the memory that jaikoz is allowed to use in the configuration file, however, even then I try not to load more than 30,000 songs at a time.

Yes good advise, as long as the drive is mounted as a drive it will be accessible with Jaikoz.

You are right the Jaikoz manual could do with an overhaul, but if you want something simpler for automated matching have you taken a look at http://jthink.net/songkong - this is easier to use also isn’t memory bound like Jaikoz so you should be able to match all 100GB in one (long) sitting.
