ISRC & Copied Files

Hi,

I’m currently using the trial version but it’s definitely the best thing I’ve come across so far. I’m eager to purchase assuming it addresses my needs.

I see there is a dedicated field for ISRC which is great. I also see that there is no mention of the ISRC in the properties section or comment box of the output file. This may be great also (as it is uneditable) but only if it is still encrypted in the file and can be tracked?

Can you please clarify this for me and also let me know how I can know that the ISRC is actually embedded in the MP3 (if I can’t see it c/- properties)?

Any one interested in ISRC? You may be interested to read this: http://www.aria.com.au/pages/isrc.htm

One other question. If that particular MP3 with the ISRC has copies ripped from it, I’m guessing that the metadata is lost? Is the ISRC (assuming it is encrypted in another part of the file other than the viewable properties) also lost in this copy process?

Please get back to me asap as I need to put some files out there Yesterday but I don’t want anything out there that hasn’t got my relevant ISRC properly embedded.

Thanks in advance (I hope).

The ISRC is embedded in the file within the metadata just like artist or album fields. it is definetntly stored within the file, you could prove this to yourself by copying the file and then loading the copy into Jaikoz and you will still see the ISRC.

If the file was ripped from a stream and the metadata was lost then the ISRC would be lost as well.

But I’m not aware of what programs actually read the ISRC field, there doesnt seem to be a defined process for embedding and tracking ISRCs in Mp3s.
