Is it possible to keep the files in my watch folder unmodified. Once SongKong finds a new folder added it tags it properly, but then instead of writing over those files or moving them it copies to a whole new folder?
Is there an option for Copy files instead of Move files?
Yes, just ensure
Basic:Rename Files based on Metadata when Matched
and
File Naming:Move Folder
are both unchecked
Thanks for responding Paul
I just tried it and it doesn’t copy the files anywhere. It just checks musicbrainz and discogs for the tracks. Which is not exactly what I wanted it to do.
I don’t think I explained it well enough so I’ll try again.
I would like SongKong to watch a folder I set. Then if a new album is added to that folder it keeps that album exactly as it is, unmodified. It copies that album that was added to a new folder and does all the fixes and changes to the files.
So you’ll end up with both
FOLDER 1/album(unmodified)
FOLDER 2/album(properly tagged and renamed)
So in this scenario SongKong is set watching FOLDER 1
Is this possible in SongKong at the moment?
Thanks,
JAS
Ah right, you want a COPY function instead of a MOVE function (which we do have), no Im afraid don’t have that option but why would you want that ?
I have most of my music added directly to a read-only network drive. So I am not able to make changes to them there on that drive. I would need to copy the folder first to my main computer then modify the files, which adds an extra step.
I have just now figured out a way to copy folders automatically with a separate app called SyncTool. Still I’d have to add another step and app in there to get my music folder modified.
I was just hoping there was an easier way.
