Here is the status report regarding my albums from the genres jazz, rock and pop.
Kind Regards, Klaus
Improve Status Report - Part II
Basic metadata is good, with Artist, Title, Track No at 99.9%
But Disc No is low at 38%, Disc No should always be set even for single disc albums
There is one album missing the Album field, this can be seen by going to Browse by Album and selecting the UNKNOWN ALBUM folder.
/music/JRP/01HQ_CD/Anugama
There are five albums mising the Album Artist field, these can be seen by going to Browse by Artist/Album and selecting the UNKNOWN ARTIST folder.
- /music/JRP/03Rock/The Rolling Stones/BEGGARS BANQUET
- /music/JRP/02POP/Steely Dan/Gaucho
- /music/JRP/02POP/R.E.M/Out of Time
- /music/JRP/03Rock/The Animals/The Animals Retrospective
- /music/JRP/03Rock/The Who/Tommy
Matching to MusicBrainz is at 68%, this is lower than usual for popular music but no songs in /music/JRP/02POP or /music/JRP/03Rock have SongKong Ids, this indicates that Fix Songs has not been run against these folders yet.
Matching to Discogs is at 67%
There are some albums that have been matched incompletely, there are six MusicBrainz albums where the complete album has not been matched, these are usually worth investigating. Select Matched, then Matched to MusicBrainz and set the Matched to Album filter to Without Full Album Match to see them. Further investigation shows that there are different issues:
Incorrect Version of Album match
- /music/JRP/04Jazz/Buena Vista Social Club/Buena Vista Social Club has been incorrectly matched to the DVD version of the album, this can be fixed by using Match to One Album
- /music/JRP/04Jazz/Miles Davis/Tutu folder has also been incorrectly matched to the DVD version of the album, this can be fixed by using Match to One Album
Missing Tracks on your system
- /music/JRP/04Jazz/Jaco Pastorius/Truth, Liberty & Soul folder is missing track 9
- /music/JRP/04Jazz/John Coltrane/Coltrane Plays The Bluesfolder is missing track 5
Folder split into two different versions of album
- /music/JRP/04Jazz/McCoy Tyner/The Real McCoy has been split into matching two different versions of the same release https://musicbrainz.org/release/e6fab85c-946b-443f-b662-4e1163d78ce0 and https://musicbrainz.org/release/e6fab85c-946b-443f-b662-4e1163d78ce0 , this can be fixed by using Match to One Album
- /music/JRP/04Jazz/Nina Simone/Little Girl Blue folder has been split into matching two different versions of the same release https://musicbrainz.org/release/27300da6-f790-4924-8327-921b6ddfc567 and https://musicbrainz.org/release/27300da6-f790-4924-8327-921b6ddfc567 , this can be fixed by using Match to One Album
There are another five Discogs albums where the complete album has not been matched, these are usually worth investigating. Select Matched, then Matched to Discogs and set the Matched to Album filter to Without Full Album Match to see them. Further investigation shows that
- /music/JRP/04Jazz/Gregory Porter/Take Me To The Alley (Deluxe Edition) folder has been incorrectly matched to the DVD version of the album, this can be fixed by using Match to One Album
- /music/JRP/04Jazz/Ray Charles/Genius Loves Company (10th Anniversary Edition) has also been incorrectly matched to the DVD version of the album, this can be fixed by using Match to One Album
These are actually fine, there is a bug in report showing they are not matched because of Discogs subtracks, e.g https://www.discogs.com/release/14372942-Carla-Bley-Andy-Sheppard-Steve-Swallow-Trios?redirected=true
- /music/JRP/04Jazz/Andy Sheppard,Carla Bley,Steve Swallow/Trios
- /music/JRP/04Jazz/Jimmy Rogers/Blue Bird
- /music/JRP/03Rock/The Kinks/One for the Road (Live)
Hi Paul,
Thanks for all the advice, I still have a lot of work to do. Unfortunately, I’ve only been treating the pop and rock genres as a bit of a side note. It will take me some time to reach the quality standards here.
Best regards,
Klaus
Okay, but I assume you do realize you don’t have to work album by album, you could do your rock folder in one go.
Of course, I know this strength of Songkong ; best regards, Klaus
