How to use a different Java Version

How can I get SongKong to use a different Java instead of the pre-installed one.
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
SK: 6.10.1 Odelay

Why would you want to, SongKong provides the correct version of Java as part of the install. From SongKong 6.10 onwards you should run SongKongGui.exe rather than SongKong64.exe, I wonder if not knowing this is the reason for your question.

I’d like to try and see if the following error doesn’t happen again…

The problematic frame is a different one, I notice you are on Windows 7 maybe that is part of the problem.

A new release of SongKong is planned this week unfortunately probably will not help with this issue because still using Java 14, we cannot use Java 15 yet because they have removed support for the Javscript engine we use for filename masks so we need to rework that code and that will not happen for this release.

Thanks for the answer. I have written 2 batch files to let SongKong work directory by directory, even if it sometimes breaks off.

okay god workaround, but do you have a newer machine you could try it on?

Unfortunately I do not have a newer machine, but I will change my operating system to XUBUNTU and run Windows as a virtual machine.

You could dual boot or for the purposes of SongKong just create a bootable Ubuntu install on USB stick and then just run Ubuntu as required from usb stick without having to affect the Windows installation, this is how I tested SongKong for linux for a while when I didnt have a dedicated linux machine.

I have now completely reinstalled my PC. And I did it with XUBUNTU. SongKong works perfectly here as usual and I think even a bit faster than before under Windows.
