How to Upgrade in OS X (noob)

Hello,

First off, your software is AWESOME! I turned it loose on 20GB at a time for a 100GB collection and it correctly fixed up, in my estimation, about 90% of those files.

I would like to just upgrade, but the only thing that is available for download is “Jaikoz.app”. If i download this and save it to my application folder, will it delete my registered copy?

Currently running version 1.9.4

thanks again for the good stuff

Thanks,

If you copy to Application folder, yes it will overwrite your existing copy -but that shouldnt be a problem if you have your license file just reinstalled it. Alternatively you run it from your desktop first until you were ahppy with it.
Unfortunately any modifications to preferences will also be lost but this issue has been resolved. Installation of Jaikoz 2.2.0 onwards will keep their license and preferences when you upgrade to a later version.

I guess that is my problem, I can’t find the actual license serial for my software. Or, is it built into my version of Jaikoz? I can’t find it using spotlight :frowning:

I am enclosing a screen grab of my Info. Would it be possible based on that info i send that you can re-send my original license file (if that is how it works)?

I really appreciate your patience and hopefully this post can help my fellow noobs out there.

Hi, the file you are looking for is called license.jai, I think that in version 1.9.4 you would find it in your home folder or home/Jaikoz folder.
Just save this file somewhere
Install the new version
Go to File/Install Full License and select the file

Well, i guess i don’t get to upgrade. Since i upgraded to leopard and only brought forward these: Music, Movies, Applications and Pictures :frowning:
I must have somehow trashed it.

Ok, no problem Ive resent your license, so you should be able to use install latest version now.

woops, my fault. THANKS DUDE!!! Made my day (a couple months ago)
