How to select a row

I have looked all over but cannot find out how to “select a row”.

Probably a forest for the trees problem.

Select in the row number column, most tasks are applied to what is selected in the rowno column if selected. However visually it just highlights the row number column, this allows you to have a row selection and separate field selector separetely at the same time, but I realize that it does have it drawbacks.
