How to add a multi disc to NGS with Jaikoz?

I try to add a multi disc (3 discs) to MusicBrainz NGS. But only the first one is acceped from MusicBrainz. When I try to add the second disc, I get an Internal Server Error with (Oops, something went wrong!) from MusicBrainz.
Should I add one disc after another to MusicBrainz and then use on the first added disc: Edit -> tracklist-tab -> Add Disc button -> Add Disc menu with the Add Existing tracklist or should I insert all three discs to Jaikoz and add them all together in one chunk?
Is somewhere an approach described? (best practice)
I don’t like to add the other two disc manually

Ps.: Now I added the other two discs with the help of FreeDB. (Using on the first added disc: Edit -> tracklist-tab -> Add Disc button -> Add Disc menu with the FreeDB Import)
All three discs are now added to MusicBrainz.

I tagged the first disc in my collection with Jaikoz using Action -> Match to Release -> Match songs to a specified MusicBrainz Release (MBID: \t7d2fdbc0-a21e-4610-8e25-4cb0c16f8ee3). This works fine.
But I don’t get the discId behind the album name. :frowning:
And using the same procedure for the other two disc, Jaikoz won’t find them. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:
Manual Correct finds the songs on these three CDs, but for disc 2 and 3 a warning is written in the consol-window like:
WARNING: Song No:51 Unable to retrieve song details for release 7d2fdbc0-a21e-4610-8e25-4cb0c16f8ee3, track 41cd4e05-7108-448c-ac02-9cfd7121c3f2 no longer seems to exist on Musicbrainz
:?: :?: :?:
There seems to be something going wrong in the procedure what I’m doing or in Jaikoz or in MusicBrainz. Maybe all three.

Inserting all 3 discs to Jaikoz and adding them together is the way it should be done, but it looks like youve encountered a bug in Musicbrainz and to get it fixed they will need some help. Could you reproduce as follows

  1. Load three discs into Jaikoz
  2. Empty the MB Release Id Column so that Jaikoz will allow you to add them to Musicbrainz.
  3. Submit New Release, Jaikoz will create and open a webpage and then a couple of seconds later will redirect to Musicbrainz. Grab the url of the original page before it redeirects and email me the file. Then I can test this out without needing the actual files.

I dont know, that track does exist on the release, maybe your support files will shed some light on this.

I have analysed the html form you use dto submit the release.

The problem is that you have just tried to submit the 2nd disc instead of all three discs in one go. This then causes a problem because you havent provided any details about disc one and Musicbrainz falls over because it is expecting to find details for disc one.

But you didnt submit all three discs in one go because Jaikoz complained that ‘You have selected multiple releases …’ this check that Jaikoz does it to prevent you try to adding songs from multiple releases because you can only add one release at a time. It failed because you have included in your title the disc (disc 1 ), (disc 2 ) ecetera, its incorrect style to include this in NGS. But perhaps Jaikoz should recognise this and filter it out.

Also for multi disc releases you can have disc titles such as Summer, Winter but its going to be very difficult for Jaikoz to fiulter these out

Workaround is to (temporarily) set release title to be exactly the same before submitting release to Musicbrainz.

Musicbrainz:Should report a sensible error instead of Internal Server Error if medioum one missing http://tickets.musicbrainz.org/browse/MBS-2945

Jaikoz:Should Ignore differences bracketed information when checking that all songs are from the same release.

this doesn’t do it.
I have here a multi disc with two discs. Did both into Jaikoz, album name is the same. But how do you distinguish the two discs now. Which trackNo belongs to disc 1 and which to disc 2 ?
But it doesn’t came so far. See the attached file (to attach a JPG file here in the message body isn’t possible: HTTP Status 500)
So I will send you an e-mail

There is a discno field, trackno pertain to that discno but Ive seen your email maybe there is a further restriction in Jaikoz, I’ll check.

Oh, I see, the discno field is never filled in my collection.
So I tried it once more with discNo filled, but the same:
Missing song with track no 2 …

Okay the logic is wrong in Jaikoz, there is no way to add multi-disc releases from Jaikoz in one go at the moment.

The best you can do for now is either

Add for one disc at a time, manually ensuring that the discno field for each disc is set to 1 when adding, then merge the three releases into one within Musicbrainz.

or

Add first disc, then manually add the other tracks to it in Musicbrainz

Fix now available in Jaikoz 4.2.0 Beta
