Having hard time forcing Jaikoz to use original release info

I am just getting started with this software and really excited about finally get my collection up to snuff.

I have read most of the manual and been looking at posts but couldn’t find a clear answer.

I am trying to force the auto-correct to use original release info, but despite having set the proper preferences per the manual for this, it still is having trouble. I think it might have to do with the fact that most of my existing metadata is for compilations and “best of” albums and it is forcing it away from originals info on MB.

Besides deleting all of my existing album names, is there any clean and automatic way to have the auto correct pull down original releases or at least show all listings (both compilations and original) from MB so I can quickly pick the original myself and move on?

Thank you for your help and this really is some amazing software.

It wont just use release names, also use fields such as trackno maybe that is why it is still favouring compilations. Make sure you enable

Remote Correct:Match:Do not prefer Various Artists Compilations

and assuming your fles are not currently grouped per orginal album make sure you DONT enable Group Songs By Folder Only

You can also do things semi-automtically and pick the album you want to use using Action/Remote Correct/Manual Correct Metadata from MusicBrainz

Thanks Paul. I double checked my settings per your recommendations and everything was already set up that way. It seems that most of my tracks have metadata that is from compilations, so when ever it does its search, it leans towards that. If I go in and remove any obvious metadata fields that indicate a compilation then re-search, it does a much better job of finding original release info.

Another quick question, since I am removing large amounts of the existing metadata, is there any way to quickly zero out all of the fields, especially all of the various musicbraiz IDs. Highlight and delete is a little slow and hoping there is a quicker way.

Thanks.

Key metadata fields to empty if you dont wan’t it to match the compilation release but you would like to make use of valid metadata would be just to delete album and track no fields.

You can use Select-All to select all fields, then Delete to delete all the selected fields, Jaikoz will only empty empty real metadata fields such artist, album… leaving fileds like subfolder and filename intact.

Alternatively if you right-click on a column header and select Empty Column it will empty all the fields in the column.
