Have the compilations filled out and renamed correctly!

Hello! I’ve been a new SongKong Premium owner since yesterday evening and would like to know how to configure SongKong so that my compilations are completely scanned, modified, and renamed! For example, if I have Bravo Hits Vol. 1, I want the compilation to be renamed correctly, including all metadata such as genre, album, track number, title, artist, etc. I hope that’s clear!

Hi, so there are generally two separate tasks to consiider

• Identification and Tagging of your songs
• Renameing files based on the improved metadata stored in the tags

So you are askng about the second item, and this is done by Rename Files task, but it is only going to work well if you already have the metadata in your files either by using Fix Songs task or Manual Edit, you can check this by running a Status Report

Assuming the metadata is okay:

• Start Rename Files task
• On Basic tab disable Preview Ony
• On Rename Files tab set Rename Files based on Metadata to a suitable value that is not No
• Set Rename Mask and Compilation Rename Mask that suits what you want to do
• Select Start
• On Rename Files
