Foreign Chracters in various data fields

Using Auto Correct at times a number of fields will show up with foreign characters such as:
�???

Or

�???

Looking at it through Jaikoz it is translated (or simply correct) but Windows and other applications see the foreign characters.

I am able to edit the field through Windows Explorer and remove the text, run Auto Correct again and it seems to correct it at times.

Anyone seen this before?
