Flac / Multiple Artists Support

Hi,

I would like to know if it’s possible and how (what is the syntax) to get multiple artists support in flac file using Vorbis comments as it is done with multiple genre ? (or if it’s possible to add this function ?)

As example for a track which is performed by two artists:

ARTIST=Sarah Brightman
ARTIST=Andrea Bocelli

as mentionned here
http://www.xiph.org/vorbis/doc/v-comment.html
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/BeginnersGuideToTagging#Multiple_Tags_for_genre_.2F_artist

Many thanks for your support.
Kind Regards

Not yet
But I am expecting to add support for storing multiple artists for all formats like I currently do with genres for the Jaikoz 4.0 release, because this will work with Musicbrainz NGS, and Musicbrainz NGS holds each artist credit on the release/song seperately.

i.e Currently Musicbrainz says ‘Johnny Cash & June Carter’ whereas in NGS will say ‘Johnny Cash’ + ‘&’ + ‘June Carter’ so much easier to identify the seperate artists

Awesome … will be so good.

I search on google for Musicbrainz NGS and it seems that they already have an online server in release candidate and the new approach is wonderful.

Is it possible to point JAT to this RC1 server for testing ?

Kind Regards

Yes you can , just change Preferences: Musicbrainz :Submissions to Musicbrainz : Musicbrainz Server to test.musicbrainz.org .

This would actually be quite useful for the Musicbrainz team because it will highlight any problems with the backwards compatible interface they provide.

However Jaikoz cannot take advantage of the new Musicbrainz NGS features whilst using the current interface so you wont see any better matching ,but you may find bugs with the Musicbrainz server http://jira.musicbrainz.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa

The plan is to update Jaikoz to use the new interface and release it the same day Musicbrainz NGS becomes live, although because there is no firm release date for Musicbrainz this is difficult to schedule, this release should be Jaikoz 4.0, where as Jaikzo 3.9.0 will use the current interface and will be released today or tomorrow.

Ah ok … I was thinking that this param was just for submission. Oups
No matters. I will wait JAT 4.0 for the new features.
Until version 4.0 I can correct some infos myself.

But I will start to test the new Musicbrainz server because many releases are more accurate. Many 2 discs album are no more in 2 releases but just in one with 2 discs.

I have setup a Musicbrainz server in a Virtual Server for tagging files in offline mode … eg at work :lol:

If I find bugs using new online Musicbrainz NGS Server are you interesting by forwarding found bugs to you in same time to musicbrainz team (if this could help you too) ?

Kind Regards
