Yes, but we search MusicBraiz first and found no match. Then if existing metadata is poor we lookup in Acoustid tro try and improve the metadata before matching Discogs. But in this particular case the Acoustid data was incorrect so this made it hard to match to the Discogs release.

On 4, is there any other way to get the files renamed baud the metadata into tier same template as the rest and grouped within artist-album etc. I have a lot of files where I have painstakingly added metadata from databases that I have purchased these from. Unfortunately they don’t seem to exist on musicbrainz. Wouldnt this be a helpful feature to consider under rename basis metadata? Grateful for any thoughts.

There is a Yes, if has metadata option to Rename, I am not not clear what your question is.

Sorry, I wasnt clear.

I meant if there is metadata, then will SongKong not rename the files basis that under the “Yes, if has metadata”. I understand from your response that it should and thats what I expected in this option.

I actually tried that but it didnt rename those files. But perhaps because the renaming might have stopped before it reached those files (I had an unreported error case).

Anyway for the time being I have got around that by using Jriver’s - Rename, Move and Copy Files feature.

I think that probably is the reason. Have you seen my reply on the other discussion thread, please redownload, install and try SongKong 5.7 and send support files.
