Filenams not changed form Tag

Hi all,

I would change the filenames of some of my mp3’s. So I edited the Mask to set the Filename to title only. After that I hit Actions - Correct Files and Folders - Correct Filename from Metadata. After that I hit Save changes and was surprised that the filename wasn’t changed. Did I missed something?

Thanks in advance for support. Regards. Michael

Edit: Although I’ve changed the mask, Jaikoz saved the file as Artist - Album - Tracknumber - Title. Is there another option to change the filename?

In the main display ensure the filename column is visible. Then when you run Correct filenames from Metadata are the filename modified in Jaikoz or not ?

Paul,

thanks for your reply. Yes, the filename column is visible: Alanis Morissette - So-Called Chaos - 01 - Eight Easy Steps.mp3 But it should be Eight Easy Steps.mp3. Mask for Renaming is: title. Mask for Renaming of Compilation is: artist + " - " +title

So when you run Correct filenames from Metadata, does it change the filename on screen, and is the IsCompilation column checked ?

No. Neither the column is checked nor the filename is altered. Sorry. But if I checked the Iscompilation-Checkbox and hit Shift-cmd-9 the filename changed to the mask I configured for renaming of compilation. It does not change if I uncheck IsCompilation

Right so if the song is not a compilation then it doesnt use the compilation rename mask (it will just use the rename mask), this is expected behaviour.

So is problem solved now ?

No, it is not, because it doesn’t use the rename mask. I can configure anything I want. Nothing changed when I use the rename mask. The filename changes only if I check the IsCompilation-Checkbox

Maybe the rename mask is invalid, if still not working best if you send support your support files (Help:Create Support Files)

Paul,

I create a workaround: I check “IsCompilation” and did the renaming. This functions smooth. After that I uncheck “IsCompilation”.

Regards Michael

Okay, if thats working for you great.
