Fields filling in

Hi ,i got 2 questions :

1 : In Jaikoz are two fields for the population of : YEAR & Original Release year.
Sometimes there is a difference in years between of the first release of a song and later on when for example the song was in a compilation cd …

I wanna use only the info in the field Original Release year. Is possible to set a automation rule that copies the info from “Original Release Year” to YEAR ?

2: I want to autofill a name in the “Comment” field , can I setup this in Jaikoz. Lets say I want to put always the same name like for example : Discobar
This must appear everytime in the comment field …

Thanks in advance for helping ,

Yes, you can enable Preferences:MusicBrainz:Format:Put Original Year into Year field

No you cannot do that, but you could do:
Right-Click Comment column header and select Set Value and enter your value.

Ok , thanks for that.
I enabled : Preferences :MusicBrainz:Format : Put Original Year into Year field

But there is no change in the fields , I try execute it with “autocorrect metadata from Musicbrainz server” but nothing. If i go to Musicbrainz & search for the title and , the song & original release yr is there…

What am I doing wrong ?

Thx in advance

Correct will only find match for songs that haven’t been matched, you need to use Update Metadata from MusicBrainz

Thanks for your quick reply

Unfortunatly it is not working … I am logged in at Musibrainz via Jaikoz on my account , but nothing . See uploaded screenshot… Any other suggestions ?

Thx,

I think I can see the problem.

Most people want to match their songs to releases, but it looks like in your case you just have a set of random songs so Jaikoz is only able to match song only, this means it only adds very limited album data, this doesnt include find the original year.

If you disable Remote Correct:Match:Only Allow match if all songs in grouping match to one album to allow songs in same folder to be matched to different albums then you shoud now start getting earlier release dates.

In addition I guess there is no reason why I cant try and find the earliest release date of a song, regardless of whether we have matched to release so I will raise an issue for this.

So i cannot proceed & find a solution for the YEAR input :frowning: .
See enclosed screenshot from the Jaikoz screen who’s saying : release 1997, with the WRONG year & from DISCOGS with the correct year : release 1965 … What can I do to match this as it should be , I have TONS of files to handle …

Thanks for helping , again

Best rgds,

Within MusicBrainz the only another release we can find this track on is https://musicbrainz.org/release/9fb4fdba-68cc-4dc3-bb40-ff2d2a2ee4c4 which is another version of the same compilation, and this was released in 1997.

Match will only be made to Discogs if we can match Discogs release to MusicBrainz release. In this case the MusicBrainz release is a compilation not the original released in 1965.

For tracks where the original release can be found in MusicBrainz then you should get the right values if a release match was made.
