Excel copying

Hi,

I used to be able to copy an entire column from excel into a selected column in Jaikoz but it seems i can’t do it anymore.

Any ideas?

Why can i not copy rows from excel and paste them into the jaikoz column i want???

Is it so freaking hard to figure out??

I could do this before, why not now?

in 3.9.0 there was fix so that you could copy/paste multiple values from spreadsheet, before 3.9.0 it wasn’t working I wonder if this has caused the problem you encounter, can you just spell out exaclty what you are selectuing and how you are pasting it into Jaikoz.

Just tried from Open Office with no problem, I dont have Excel available but I womder how you are trying to do it.

Tested it with 3.9.1 using win7 and Excel 2010.

First I selected 10 cells all in a single column in excel. Each has a number in it starting with 1 and then incrementing by 1 per cell as it goes down. If I do a copy, and then a paste in the top cell of Artist in jaikoz, it does not add them to all the cells going down in that column. Instead the first cell gets all the content of all 10 cells. So in this example, the first cell gets “1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10” .

If I select 10 cells in Excel do a copy, and then select 10 cells in Jaikoz and do a paste, instead of matching the cell 1 for 1 on down, it again puts all the content of all 10 cells into the first cell and repeats all that content again in all 10 cells.

The only thing that appears to be functioning correctly is just copying a single cell in excel and pasting it into a single cell into jaikoz. It does not appear that jaikoz is able to handle multiple cells, or full column or rows correctly.

Ok the problem is that previously correcting from spreadsheets worked okay if copy fields in a column but not in a row, then in 3.9.1 I fixed it so it worked when copying fields in a row /and fields in multiple rows but inadvertently broke when you just selecting fields in a single cell.

Looking at fixing this now.

Having said that, your first test should just put ‘1’ in the first cell of the artist column because I have no idea where you want to paste the other cells, I don’t think this behaviour should be changed. So if you copy more cells then you are pasting into it just uses the as many as needed to put a value in each cell, if you copy less than you paste into then it cycles through them again in order to paste into every cell.
