Enable Editing of Extended Tags

Jaikoz a phenomenal program. It has saved me hundred of hours in adding metadata to songs. The only problem is that it does not allow editing of extended tags unless they are on Jaikoz’ predefined list.

I wish Jaikoz allowed editing of extended tags, regardless of the what the tag field is called (like “Mp3tag” does). It displays any tags associated with the mp3 and lets you edit them. Why can’t Jaikoz let you see or edit extended tags that are not in its pre-built list? Without this functionality, Jaikoz is worthless for editing metadata on Podcast MP3s because they have extended tags that Jaikoz does not recognize.

I am not trying to say Mp3tag is better - its a totally different program with a different focus. I’m just offering it as an example of the simple functionality I am looking for in Jaikoz.

Jaikoz does give access to additional fields in its mp3 interface that it does not display in its generic interface

Enable View/Show ID3 Tabs

You will probably find that these extended fields are an additional field in either the Comments or User Defined Text fields, both of these support multiple values and can be edited. To clarify this take the COMM frame used by Mp3s, a COMM frame actually consists of a language, comment and description. A comment with no description is the default comment and this is what is displayed in the generic interface, but all COMM frames are listed in the mp3 interface, iTunes uses the COMM frame to store its ReplayGain/Normalization fields. These additional fiels can be edited within Jaikoz.

Some fields cannot be edited, usually because they contain binary data these are listed in the Not Supported field, however they can be deleted in Jaikoz.

Unknown List contains fields that are not known to Jaikoz, Jaikoz cannot support editing of these fields because they may contain binary data and Jaikoz has no idea how this data should be interpreted because it is binary data.
