edit renaming compilation files >

Hi,

For Compilations how can I change the final file naming convention from:

Album ArtistofVariousArtists/Album/DiscIfMultiDisc/Artist - Album - DiscNo TrackNo Title]

to

Album ArtistofVariousArtists/Album/DiscIfMultiDisc/TrackNo - Title]

at the moment the final file names are very long

thanks

There are many existing masks available on the File Naming tab so you can simply select a different one from the Compilation rename mask dropdown.

The masks with a naming convention of Album ArtistOrVariousArtists … are the default used for Compilation mask to ensure that if the album artist is not set then the song will use Various Artist rather than labelling each song based on the track artist. However there is not really a way that album artist cannot be set so you can safely use any of the other variants, I would recommend using:

Album ArtistOrArtist/Album/DiscIfMultiDisc/Track - Title

Of course you can also edit masks or create new ones.

Trying to locate file & folder rename templates.
By ‘File Naming Tab’ do you mean Preferences:Rename File from MetaData?
I don’t find them there.

The problem is you seem to have posted a question about Jaikoz in the SongKong forum. As you are using Jaikoz you need to edit both the rename file name from metadata and the rename folder from metadata masks, together they make up the path mask. Jaikoz doesn’t currently have a way to name and store multiple masks (although planned) - you can just edit the current mask.
