I have installed a MusicBrainz NGS Database and Server locally, due to the rural area my home is in, I don’t have broadband internet access, but have several 100K’s of music tracks. Not realizing until too late that Picard doesn’t support the V2 web services yet, and have no idea when that is planned. I would really hate to go through the painful ordeal of rebuilding the server and DB again (not that it wasn’t an extremely enlightening learning experience) but the Musicbrainz documentation is not in the most organized or instructional to put it mildly. I’m aware that Paul works on both Jaikoz and MB, and was curious if the current release of Jaikoz would interface with the current implementation of Musicbrainz NGS and / or what would be necessary on my end to get a non-manual tagging solution?
Does Jaikoz currently support MusicBrainz NGS?
Hi, Jaikoz doesn’t support NGS yet because NGS is still in Beta and liable to change, but the plan is to release a new version of Jaikoz within a few days of the official release of NGS. As you note I’m one of the main developer working on the Musicbrainz NGS webservice so this will be of benefit to Jaikoz.
