Its annoying to remind new version, but good for “still up to date app” Sometime are changes very minor for me. It would be fine do not announce new version, when i click on “DO NOT Remind me to next version” button

Just disable Preferences : General :Check Automatically for Updates
However I would point out that the updates do not list every single modification made so you may be affected by problems in earlier versions without being aware of it.
