I am using version 2.8.0 and after I run auto correct I never get the discogs release url. I always have to manually put that in. Is there some setting in the preferences that I need to change?

No, just make sure Preferences/MusicBrainz/Format 2/Release Discogs Url is set to Always populate. Do any of these release have a discogs release url in Musicbrainz because that is what they need to get populated.
I have the same issue:

[list]am successfully identifying tracks from MusicBrainz, and writing Unique IDs for tracks/Releases/Artists[/list]
However, Jaikoz seldom seems to successfully write in URLs for anything (Discogs, Wikipedia, Official …). ??

But it does sometimes…, these links aren’t so well populated in Musicbrainz at the moment so its probable that the data just doesnt exist at the moment. But if you find a Musicbrainz release which does have these urls and Jaikoz doesnt pick it up then there is a problem.
