deleting rows and 1 other question.

Just 2 quick questions.

  1. How can you delete rows and the data they contain completely (not the actual files though)? If I right click delete or hit the delete key it just deletes the information in the field.

  2. When I do a tag-sub folder rename and then tag-file rename and then save the changes it relocates the folder and files from a sub-folder to the main directory where the files are in,

How can I set the program so that it keeps it in the original sub-folder?

for example:

instead of

c:\music\albums

to

c:\music

it stays in c:\music\albums

thanks.

You can select multiple fields , and then right click delete to delete the selected fields. It wouldn’t make sense to delete All fields because some fields (such as filename) cannot be deleted (because a file has to have a filename).

This is the point of the base Folder/Sub Folder fields. The tag folder rename only modifies the Sub Folder field, so you want to make sure the the base Folder field contains C:\music\albums rather than just c:\music. You can do when you select [b[Open Folders[/b] by modifying the value in Specify the number of folders above this selection to set the base folder to to zero when you select c:\music\albums as the folder.

You can also move pathnames to/from basefolder and subfolder using the Action/File and Folder Correct/Shift Base Folder to Sub Folder and Shift Sub Folder to Base Folder options

But if I have loaded some files, say 100, and I don’t want to work with 20 anymore because they’re not on musicbrainz after searching for a match, can I delete their rows somehow so it’s cleaner to work with the remaining 80 as opposed to deleting their fields and having them blank but still visible and numbered as rows and taking up space?

You mean ‘Close Files’ , select the files , right click and select ‘Close Files’ and they will be removed from Jaikoz without any modifications.

Cool. That’s what I was looking for, thanks.
