Delete all versions of tags from file and save v24 tag

Hi,

I’m starting to play more and more with Jaikoz and I used to be on windows. The program I used on windws allowed me to delete all tags from a file (all versions) and write a v24 tag with the info found in the other tags.

Does Jaikoz allow that ?

I’ve set it up as Preference/Save/ID3TagbV1 – Delete Tag
I’ve set it up as Preference/Save/ID3TagbV2 – Always write Tag v24
I’ve set it up as Preference/Save/ID3TagbV2 – Save existing fields using this encoding – checked (ISO-8859-1 chosen for v24)

Would those settings do the job or leave v1, v22 and v23 existing tags in the file ?

Thanks for the help and for a great piece of software.

Hi,

I have an additional question about this subject too …
making only lossless using flac and Vorbis comment is it possible to remove all ID3v2 tags (even if these exists) to set and keep only flac comments ?

I encounter some troubles about flac + id3v2 on some player.

Kind Regards

Yes, with those settings you’ll just have a ID3v24Tag, you can check this by loading the file in Jaikoz and looking at the version field in the View Panel.

I think ID3v2 comments are just ignored for Flac, though may be deleted I cant remember of the top of my head.

I have some albums with flac file with FLAC ID3v2 Tag Format (which are reported by Mp3tag and I don’t remember with which tool I made this before) and when I edit them with JAT, ID3v2 are not displayed, flac comment are fully and well updated but ID3v2 are not deleted but updated and finally flac files are always FLAC ID3v2 format (and bad interpreted by some device).

I use under Windows, Tag and under Posix id3v2 tool to remove / kill ID3v2.

Kind Regards
