Okay…I recently jaikozed my collection and tagged it up, cleaned it up massively, added tons of lyrics and album art and deduped many files.
However, in letting Jaikoz dedupe I never let it solely use AcousticIP to compare files, thus many many songs there are multiple copies strewn across many compilations, EPs, the original album, etc. which is a big problem as the collection grows it becomes unwieldy and besides how many copies of one song do I need?
iTunes of course can show you duplicates, but I ran a program called Tidy Up! and had it compare song name and artist and make a playlist in iTunes called Duplicates which I then exported to an m3u playlist using a script and then Jaikoz can now open it.
So this list now has 11000 tracks in it.
What’s the best way to :
-
mark for deletion all the multiple copies of song that share the same AcousticIP
-
giving weight to Original Albums and EPs
-
possibly keeping both Original Albums and EPs (which still allows for some multiple copies) but trashing Greatest Hits and compilations like “Best sounds of the 80s!”
4)…but not trashing the Greatest hits or compilations if they are the only copy
Since I might be having to do some of this by hand,
Can I export that duplicate playlist from Jaikoz to excel, make my determinations there (however I decide to do it), flag for deletion, and reimport the excel and then have Jaikoz delete the flagged files?
If so, how does the flag for delete and reimport process go?
