Cover Art Itunes vs. Jaikoz

Hello,

After running all of my music through Jaikoz (and all the filters like discogs), some of my album’s cover art looked better before running it through Jaikoz than after. I use itunes and the majority of the previous images were from itunes. Is there a way to go back and use the itunes default artwork (that was present previous to running my music through Jaikoz)…or is it too late and I have to manually change everything back? I’ve tried going into itunes and using the “get album artwork” option, but it doesn’t seem to override the cover art that I acquired through Jaikoz.

Thanks for a great program and I look forward to you answer!

The trouble with iTunes is that the artwork it downloads isnt stored in the file itself so is not visible to other applications, try deleting the artwork in Jaikoz itself, does this recover the iTunes artwork.

Thanks! I was able to recover the Itunes artwork after removing the Jaikoz artwork. With that said, is there a way to batch delete all the album artwork? Can I either do it through Jaikoz or search windows for a particular extension and delete? I think I’ll do that and just start over. I’ll be more selective with which albums I add cover art for. Thanks again for your help!

Just select the artwork fields in Jaikoz for the required rows, select Edit/Delete menu item. Then do File/Save Changes to persist deletion.

I wanted to point out two things.

First of all, by removing the art in Jaikoz, I was able to restore the itunes artwork - thanks for your help!

Secondly, I’m not sure how the musicbrainz/discogs settings work, but I did have the correct preference set (Only add artwork if it’s better quality) and my “better quality” artwork was still overridden. I assume that’s because itunes doesn’t store art in the same location. I’m not sure if it’s possible, but this would be a good “wishlist” item to have (where mb/discogs don’t overwrite itunes art if it’s not better quality).

Also, I found this site [http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=163012] that allows you to make a playlist in itunes with all songs that don’t have artwork. That way, I’m just going to import songs that don’t have artwork into Jaikoz. I thought I’d add this for anyone that ran into the same obstacle.

Thanks again!

Its on the todo list, I thinks its possible but could be a bit clunky because either have to contact itunes for each track to see if it has downloaded artwork which would be too slow or possiby parse the itunes xml file which could be out of date and only contains an artwork count not details of the artwork.
