Correct ArtWork command

It would be nice to have a command like Action -> Remote Correct -> Correct Lyrics which only collects the Lyrics

Action -> Remote Correct -> Correct Artwork
which then only collects the Artwork from the Internet

(This is a must, if you export the metadata to an Excel Sheet and you have to reimport the Excel Sheet because the computer crashed for any reason before you were ready to correct all metadata. And now the Artwork is missing)

I would love to see this feature as well. I have a lot of albums that do not have artwork and correcting it by hand is tedious.

Performing a metadata correct from Discogs or Musicbrainz doesn’t always return artwork but a Google image search does…

Yes would be fine to see that feature.
For temporal workaround use Musicbee player

Do you expect match artwork from Google to automatically put the artwork in your songs, or just list some potential options release by release which the user then chooses from.

Because I don’t see how we can reliably do the first option, if either you already do Google image search what search options do you use to get the best results.

In my experience, a simple “artist + album name + cover” query returns the album cover as the first result in every case when I tried.

The 2nd option you described is nice but, automatically inserting the first image that is returned from a Google Image Search is fine for me as the initial implementation.

Are right Astal ? Really every album is founded as first result ? I tried lot of artwork fetchers but nothing satisfied me at 100%. Ill understand Paul’s worries.

Ideal concept what i see is used in musicbee player. Some artwork providers, every is queried and maybe ( i dont know ) first result is displayed. You can select your best artwork. But can you imagine that with DB 10000+ Tracks ?

Every album I tried and that was for ~20 albums that did not have artwork on Discogs or Musicbrainz. I definitely didn’t say always! And I agree with you as I’ve tried a few artwork fetchers myself. I’ve had better luck with Google Image search than with those dedicated programs.

And I agree that Paul’s 2nd implementation (which sounds similar to Musicbee) would probably be the best final implementation as well but I’m fine with a quick and dirty brute force Google Image Search to get rid of all those no album art boxes in <insert your favorite graphical/web based music browser here>.

This will make an awesome christmas gift!
