Can you batch delete by file type?

I was wondering if there is a way to batch delete by file type (extension)? And/or with exceptions.

Example: I have my music library sorted by artist folder/album folder. As I am correcting the metadata, I am noticing that there are a lot of other files mixed in with the .mp3’s too, such as AlbumArtSmall.jpg, Thumbs.db, etc. I assume that these files were deposited by either the ripper software, or other software that maybe managed the library at one point or another. Is there a way to have Jaikoz delete any files that are not .mp3’s with the exception of the folder.jpg file?

That would save me a lot of time from manually doing it.

Not within Jaikoz

But on Windows, just do a search for *.jpg over the top level folder would allow you to delete all in one go.

Thumbs.db is an image cache which makes thumbnail viewing faster. The file is automatically created in Windows whenever images are encountered in a folder. SO if you are removing all .jpgs from the folder then you can delete Thumbs.db as well since it will no longer be required.

As always, great fix Paul!

When I used windows, everything worked great but, with the exception of not being able to see the “Thumbs.db” file (must be a setting on W7), however I was able to do the same search function in GNOME nautilus 3.26.3 (Unbuntu 18.04) and it was able to let me delete that file type. My library resides on a NAS, so its easy to see it from both OS’s.

For future reference in Windows in File Explorer if you go to View Menu and select the Hidden Items checkbox I think you would then have been able to see Thumbs.db files.
