I just autocorrected about 1000 files then 'save & move’d them into my iTunes library (with autoupdate on) only to find that all of their album tags are blank. They had album tags before I processed them.

I’ve had the same problem since upgrading to 3.3.2.
In my case, some of the album art is saved, while some of the art is not. It appears that the art is being saved, but seems to get lost somewhere along the line.
A sporadic error, however, happening approx. 50% of the time.
Hi, can you send your support files please then. Ive fixed a couple of issues , but not clear that they relate to this problem.
I ran a batch and was able to reproduce the same type of errors - artwork not saving correctly as well as some random trouble with songs not initially loading.
I’ve sent you an email detailing the problems I saw, along with the support file.
