Is there a way to batch correct the “is compilation” check box? Copy and past or hilight and select multiple do not work work.

This is an issue only on Macs, but you can get round it - Copy and Paste does work in a rather clunky way for this column:
Select field in isCompilation
This will reverse it selection so then click on the tick box to set it back to its original value
Show popup menu and select Copy
Select fields you want to set and select Paste
