AutoCorrecter Task Sequence

I’m a new user of 2.5, on OSX10.5, with 20,000 iTunes songs which need a general fixup.
Everything I’ve done so far has worked ok. Now I think I’m ready to Autocorrect batches of 5,000, especially to correct artist and title.
Is the Autocorrecter task list sequenced ok as it is, or do I need to make some changes?
For example, I saw one posting suggesting “retrieve acoustic IDs” as number one.

As long as you ‘Retrieve Acoustic Ids’ before ‘Correct Tags from Musicbrainz’ it doesnt matter exactly where it is, I would go with default.

Can you please tell me why the default sequence has the “correct artist” listed 3 times?
That is if memory serves my right because it’s the first thing I change because it seems “wrong”

Correct Artist is very quick, because it is just a local comparison of the artist field. However you are right - it should only appear twice, once before correct tags from filenames and once after correct tags from filenames.

The first time we run it is to get the artists as consisent as they can be , by crosschecking the other records. We then run Correct Tags from Filename as a last resort to populate any fields that are still empty from the values in the filename, we then run Correct Artist/Correct Titles … again to take account of new data added by Correct Tags from Filenames
