Auto-correct output folder hierarchy is not what I "thought" I specified

Hi All,

I’m rather new to Jaikoz, so if my questions seem elementary, it?s because they are. That being said, the transition to Jaikoz after years of using Media Monkey and MusicBrainz Picard, has been pretty painless and easy. I love the program but there are a couple of things that I just can?t seem to get working.

First, I’m wrong if there is a suggestion of “Best Practices” when initially configuring and using the application, user preferences aside obviously. I.e. File and Folder rename masks and MusicBrainz and Local correct formats, just to name a couple. Any help would be awesome!

My main question however, is why when saving changes to my files after autocorrect has run, are some albums being saved in my main folder as the “Album Name” and others being saved correctly by “Artist Name” with appropriate subfolders for the albums? This applies to both single and various artist compilations, so I?m confused.

Thanks in advance for any pointers!

Are you sure you actually have Jaikoz configured to rename files/folders based on their metadata because by default Jaikoz doesnt do this. You would need to add the task to the Autocorrecter tasks or run the folder tasks sperately.

So Im guessing Jaikoz isn’t actually changing the name at the moment, just keeping the existing name.

Hi Paul, I’ve attached a screen shot of the autocorrector tasks, set in the “Manipulators” tab within preferences. If you see anything that’s incorrect, please let me know.

Thanks,
Tim

Well its not incorrect, but it as I say there is no task to rename the filenames or folders from Jaikoz so Jaikoz isnt doing that.

If you want Jaikoz to do this add the following from the left hand side list to the right hand side list:

Correct Filename from Metadata
Correct SubFolder from Metadata
