Artwork Retrieval

Where does Jaikoz get its Artwork from?
Most of the artwork that is being retrieved is low res, but if you “View Online” at other places (Wikipedia, Amazon) from within Jaikoz the images are up around 500x500.
Is it possible for Jaikoz to retrieve images from more than one place and have the user decide which one to use?

Jon

Amazon has changed the file name so it isnt easy to get the higher quality artwork, but it could be fixed.

Jaikoz could allow the user to decide but then that means the user has to be there to make the choice so you can’t fix lots of files automatically. Possible to add it to the Manual tags from Musicbrainz or as a seperate function.

At the moment I am letting Jaikoz find the artwork via automatic fix, then I check it. 90% of the time it is of poor quality, so I then go to Amazon, or Wikipedia and manually retrieve better if available. If none there, then ‘Google is my friend’.
I guess anything that can make it easier (less searching) would make it better.

Artwork column can hold multiple images, so perhaps we could make the choice as we review the changes.

Are you running update from Discogs as well, because artwork from Discogs is high quality. In order to get a match from Discogs the Discogs Release url field needs to be populated (either because it could be retrieved from MB) or because you manually entered it yourself. Also make sure you have Preferences/Remote Correct/Discogs/Artwork set to Overwrite if better Quality otherwise it wont overwrite existing artwork.

I would recommend you spend your time searching for the artwork on Discogs this would probably be more fruitful, and if you then added the link to the Musicbrainz database itself then jaikoz could always retrive the artwork as could others with the same album.

Only mp3, flac and mp4s support multiple artwork, also I dont think most people would want half a dozen versions of the same artwork embedded in each file.

Also realise it is not possilbe to automatically get artwork from sources like Google without the user checking because cant guarantee that an image really is cover art.
