Artist field & dealing with the word "the"

Hi,

I know I’ve seen it addressed somewhere in the documentation, but now that I would like to alter the way Jaikoz handles the word “the” in the artist name field, I can’t find the section that addresses it. Of course doing a search for the word “the” didnt help…lol

I prefer to list artists either without the word “the”, or to move it to the end of the artist name preceded by a “,”.

Example:

The Who ----> Who
or
The Who ----> Who, The

My library, which I am now editing with Jaikoz, is already setup the way I prefer, but Jaikoz wants to add the “the” back in the front of the artists which apply (E.G. ‘Smashing pumpkins’ wants to change to ‘The Smashing Pumpkins’.)

Thanks in advance,
Scott

2nd option is Artist ----> Sort Artist

I think your’e best bet would be to make sure the Sort Artist is completed (this is one of the fields Musicbrainz can fiell in for you) and it is the Sort Artist that is used for sorting your tracks in iTunes ectera, it falls back to use Artist only if Sort Artist is emprty.

Actually removing ‘the’ is difficult because Preferences/Manipulators/Word Remover is only used for ignoring words when matching them in Local Correct not formatting the final result.

If you really want to remove them completetly (1st option) you could use Find And Replace
Set 1st Combo to Artist
Set 2nd Combo to Start With
Select Replace All
