A-Z distribution to folder

Hi there, reasonable collection over here. What about a A-Z folder distribution option. So I have a path with artist in 27 (0-10, A-Z) maps, I run all new through Jaikoz, but I’d like the option that distributes itself.

Can!

EDIT: please put in the next release the Last.fm plugin multiple tags!

You need to elaborate on what this last.fm plugis in, prefably in a different forum topic

Some apps allow for an additional folder mask on the auto create/move option. So it takes the first letter of the artist and puts it in a separate folder. ie, music\a\artist\album, music\b\artist\album, etc. Some of them are even smart enough to look for articles, like A, An, The, and even some foriegn ones like El, La, Das, etc. That way The Beatles, would be listed as music\b\The Beatles\album.

I have my collection sorted this way as well. With really large music collections some file systems like windows choke when all the artists are listed in one folder so it helps speed things up and makes it a bit easier to find ones music.

EDIT, sorry just re-read. You were asking about the last.fm, not the folder organization. My bad

wrt to A-Z I could do this but I now have a worked out solution to allow you to use javascript syntax to specify your path anyway you like, so I expect I’ll just implement this instead then you can do whatever you like !

I really like mediamonkeys layout to do this. It is located under their Tools -> Auto-Organize Files. Unfortunately if i recall correctly the alpha starting character wasn’t straight forward and took some custom syntax to get it to work. How they have the window setup to customize the folder and file structures is really nice and extremely easy to work in.

Sadly I had to look up how to do it again to post this. Jaikoz has been becoming my one stop program for tagging. It has slowly been including any task that I use to use other programs for. Which I love as I am now down to just a couple of programs, instead of my old toolbox of over a dozen of tagging tools and apps
